The Greenest Village in Europe

Oosterbeek was elected 'Greenest Village in Europe' in 2005. Oosterbeek offers a variety of stately avenues, farmlands, and parks. A large part of Oosterbeek’s green appearance is due to rich industrialists, who bought estates in Oosterbeek at the beginning of the 20th century. The most famous estate is 'De Bilderberg'. Campground Aan Veluwe (formerly known as campground 'De Bilderberg') was once a part of this mighty estate. The beautiful green village of Oosterbeek has been a source of inspiration for painters of the 'Oosterbeek school'.
